Writing Articles for Article Directories by Jason Deines

When it comes to promoting yourself and/or website one of the best ways to do this is to write articles and submit them to article directories. As you write more and more articles you will be branding yourself as an expert in the field, which you write. This goes a long ways when building trust and support for you and your business.

Writing articles may sound like a lot of work and be time consuming but that is not completely true. Whether you are a natural writer or one that needs to work at it you will get better with practice. If you don't first succeed try and try again, the work will pay off in the long run.

There are some simple steps to follow when writing articles for article directories.

1. Write about something that interests you. It is always easier to write about something that you know about or have a passion for. Don't bite off more than you can chew by taking on topics you know nothing about or don't like, it will show in your writing. 2. Consider where you want the article to go, is it going to be a series of articles on "how to" or one article. Your article should be informative and address a specific issue or problem. Well written articles can have anywhere from 500 to 1000 words. 3. AVOID SPAM! Your article is not the place to promote you or your product unless you are writing a press release or product review. If you have spam in your article the chances of it being published is limited, you also damage your reputation. When you submit an article to an article directory you increase your chances of your articles being published on others' website thus driving more traffic to your site and improving you search engine optimization efforts. 4. Make sure your article is free of any spelling and grammar errors. It does not take long to proof read your article and run the spell check program. 5. Save the website and self promotion for your resource box or "about the author." There is plenty of space to tell readers about you and your product. Keep it professional.

Over time writing articles will become second nature to you and you will be amazed on the traffic you start driving to your website. Take the time submit well-written and informative articles. The more your readers trust you the safer they will feel visiting your website and buying your product.
